Why I think Death Proof was a let down

I think death proof seemed more boring becuase, in my opinion, i think that death proof captured the grindhouse essence more than planet terror. and grindhouse movies were low budget and alot of the time bad movies. most critics say death proof is better, becuase hey are watching it and seeing how like a real grindhouse movie it is. and normal cinema goers like planet terror better as more goes on and they are looking for a good movie. its not so much a grindhouse movie as death proof.
if that makes any sense?

and death proof seems to get better the more you watch it. the first time i saw it, it was straight after PT so it seemed very slow. But i love how quentin does his films, and i love the atmosphere of DP. and like any quentin movie it has great music.

This is from Rotten Tomatoes.com (that site that rates movies based on reviews) and here's how the Grindhouse films did:

Grindhouse (the double feature) is at 81% good reveiws
Planet Terror (the DVD on its own) is at 75%
Death Proof (the DVD on its own) is at 58%

Grindhouse and PT are close, but DP is quite a bit different.
